Aoife Clark – Ireland – Three Day Eventer

Qualified for 2016 Olympic Games in Rio

Aoife is one of Ireland’s leading riders and was ranked 11th in the World Rankings in 2013.  She was placed 7th Individually at the London Olympics,  Ireland’s top placed rider and helping the team to an historic 5th place in the process.

Aoife was a member of Ireland’s World Equestrian Games team in Normandy in August 2014. This team secured their position for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Her sights are firmly set on going six places higher in Rio 2016 and on building up a successful team of horses to compete and win at four star level.

2013 saw her drawing closer to those goals with a fantastic season culminating in a win at Blenheim Palace CCI*** on Fenyas Elegance, a silver medal at the World Breeding Championships in Lion D’Angers on Fernhill Adventure, and claiming 8th place in what was widely regarded as the highest quality field ever assembled at the prestigious Badminton CCI**** on her London 2012 ride Master Crusoe.

Since moving to base in England in 2006 and starting off with a small team of young horses, one of whom was Olympic mount Master Crusoe, her performances have gone from strength to strength.

Starting off on the hunting field, followed by pony eventing, Aoife focuses on treating every horse as an individual and on forming a partnership with each one based on their temperament, type and ability.  She was also one of only four riders at the Olympics to jump two fault free rounds in the show-jumping,  showing her cool head for pressure on her Senior Championship debut.

Aoife is based in Middle Barton, Oxfordshire, though comes from Co. Kildare, and runs a professional event yard training and competing horses from 3 year olds to four-star, producing them to go up the levels or for sale on behalf of clients.
